A visit to my beloved Tegel Airport. Currently off limits due to WWII munition still on the ground next to hazardous substances from the airport. About 2/3 of this area will be built up however the runways will remain next to a fairly large section of the “grasslands” you already see. We already have rare animals and birds settling in and some migration birds started to use this area as an in-between stop. Quite possibly we could have first cranes stopping here as early as next autumn 🙏🏻
